Clock Tower Company

FAQ

Clock Tower was founded by WashU alumni who loved their off campus years but knew the system was broken. Check out the Founder's Letter for more. On a day to day basis, Clock Tower is staffed by a team of industry professionals specially trained to serve WashU students.

Anywhere from a 3 minute to 10 minute walk from campus. You can also take the free WashU Shuttle or take advantage of our buildings' access to ample safe and free parking. All our buildings are on University Drive, Washington Ave, Kingsbury Blvd, or the Delmar Loop. This is the only off campus pocket of apartment buildings with a true neighborhood feel. We call it the unofficial upperclassmen campus because it's sandwiched between the Village and the Loop.

Our apartments come fully furnished and newly built with all the modern touches. Dishwashers and free in unit laundry are standard in each apartment. We build with high quality materials because we plan to operate these buildings for the long term. We prioritize an actual high quality of life, not just the amenities that photograph well. You can browse our homes and filter through the amenities that come with each apartment building.

One year prior is a safe bet. For reference, the majority of our 2026 to 2027 apartments were leased by the start of the 2025 to 2026 school year. Some apartments even get leased 2 years in advance. If you want to reserve apartments for a group, either by taking an entire building or a floor of a building, you need to begin extra early. We do not reserve any apartments until all applications are in and the refundable hold deposits are paid.

Inquire with your preferences and we will respond promptly with our availability and pricing. You can also browse the apartments first to narrow down your search. Once you have selected an apartment, each roommate should submit a quick, free application on our online portal. We keep this process extremely simple. First come first served. Entirely online. No parent or guarantor applications required.

Our standard lease term is 12 months. Usually June to May, though some buildings have August to July lease terms available too. In some buildings, we very rarely accommodate a 10 month lease at a higher rental rate. We typically cannot do semester leases. We instead encourage those students to sublet to a WashU student.

Yes. We sublet our apartments when we were students. We know how it goes, so we make it easy. We permit subletting to WashU students via email request. Subletting is very common in our buildings because the apartments are newly built in the best locations and come fully furnished.

Yes. Maintenance is on-site during business hours and available on-call after hours. All requests are submitted through our online portal with AppFolio and are typically addressed within 24 to 48 hours.

Through our online portal with AppFolio, so nothing gets lost. You can also reach the leasing team directly by phone or email if something needs attention right away.

Rent includes water, sewer, and trash. Gas, electric, and internet service are not included. You can expect an additional $75 to $100 per person per month to cover these utilities.

Our buildings are sandwiched between the Delmar Loop and WashU's main campus, with every building neighboring property owned by the university. WashU has both its own police department and private security driving patrols day and night. The sidewalks are lined with WashU's blue light emergency stations.

The University City Fire Department and Police Department are stationed just off the Delmar Loop. The UCPD drive their own patrols and are able to respond to any one of our buildings in a moment's notice. The University City mayor appointed Max, our founder, to the Loop Special Business District, where his primary focus has been working closely with the UCPD to keep the neighborhood safe. In addition to Clock Tower's own cameras, UCPD has installed their own high tech police cameras on the roof of University Square.

Nope. We don't require a guarantor or co-signer for any of our leases.

Yes. This is one of the many ways we as former students know how to help. Email leasing@clocktowercompany.com and we will work with you to make a payment schedule that fits the financial aid schedule.
